Steve Koppe, eTown's live audio engineer, is excited to start hosting regular open mic nights at the cafe at eTown Hall. Our second in this series will be Monday, September 12th at 6:00PM with lottery picks for performance slots starting at 5:30. Steve has been a part of the Boulder music community since 1980 as a guitarist, engineer, producer, studio owner and most recently, touching on the singer/songwriter world. With dozens of records and tens of thousands of live shows to his credit, Koppe remains a serious music junkie and fan! “I have been fortunate, indeed, to be part of the Boulder scene and watch it ebb and flow. Currently it feels a bit anemic, although there is a brewing singer/songwriter storm and I want to help it rage. This open mic is our attempt to do that. With time I hope to incorporate an informational component by having industry pros, i.e. agents, managers, publishers, artists, etc. speak at the top of the event. What I would love to see is performers learning each other's material and performing together, growing the scene from the roots up and watering each other's material along the way.” SUGGESTED DONATION: $10
