I was gobsmacked by the quality of the songwriting... accomplished composition and arrangements... 4 stars." -Arena, RTÉ Radio 1's Arts Show "Terrific. Disarming and beautifully crafted folk-pop. Connolly is a witty storyteller and not-to-be-missed songsmith." -Chicago Tribune "Connolly's songs are both sad and uplifting. They're real. They speak to the goodness in people, that need to do something to make the world just a little better." - Budapest Times "Amongst the most vibrant, poignant, and authentic indie folk artists in New York City." - No Depression ----------- Originally from Manchester England, his early influences were the classic singers of the 1950s, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Charlie Rich and Hank Williams. Souls singer Sam Cooke and Van Morrison also played a huge role in his development as did folk musician Norman Blake and Bill Monroe. His first American home was San Francisco 1993-1998 where after playing every coffee shop/open mic/street corner he got to make an album “Spit and Kisses” at famed Russian Hill Recording studio which included performances from the Tori Amos and Linda Perry bands. That album led to an extended run of shows at the Fillmore between acts like Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Son Volt and many others. He has opened for and shared the stage with many folk legends including Bert Jansch, Rosanne cash, Chip Taylor, Louden Wainwright III and pop stars including David Gray. (He also took a master class in namedropping) Currently living in New York he has released a string of albums and was briefly the guitarist in Niall Connollys band. He is currently busy promoting “JUNKYARD” an album recently recorded with Producer/Musician Kyle Lacy, which embraces all the early Rock n Roll influences from his early childhood.
