Birdwatching - IN PERSON PROGRAM
Other
77th Street and CPW,New York NY 10024
13 September, 2022
Description
During this 90-minute stroll, we hope to see warblers—small, colorful, tropical birds that come from their ancestral nesting grounds up north, on their way back to the Caribbean, Central, and South America, where they spend the winter. Led by Miriam Rakowski, knowledgeable birder with 30+ years of experience. Please note: We will meet on the north-east corner of Central Park West and 77th Street by the benches, not at DOROT. Please be early or on time. Binoculars are strongly suggested, as they will greatly enhance your experience. Below is a link to a video with directions on “How to Set The Diopter of Your Binoculars”. Please set your binocular diopters before the event, so that you may enjoy spending your time seeing the birds more clearly. Please note that we will be walking or standing for approximately 90 minutes, on mostly flat trails, with some steps and occasionally uneven ground. We suggest you wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress for the cooler morning fall weather. Wear layers and a hat for the sun, and please bring water as well. You may also want to bring a snack. Pre-registration is required.
