Competition Information All abilities welcome, 18 and under. No USA Climbing members are allowed. If you are unfamiliar with rope climbing, or have other questions please reference our rulebook, or talk to your athletes coach. - Registration will close on 9/2 at midnight. ***Athletes MUST sign up by 8/24 at midnight in order to receive a competitor shirt! - All competitors will receive 10 raffle tickets for attending this competition! All raffle tickets will be added up at the championship and entered into a big championship raffle! - There will be an awards ceremony and pizza party following the second session of this competition. In addition, we will be having a competitor shoe demo throughout the sessions, and the bouldering area will be available for open climb! ***You must attend TWO OR MORE of the qualifying events to be able to attend the championship. The championship will be a combination of modified redpoint and onsight format, and will have an award ceremony including all-season awards! Competition Format - Top rope will be in traditional redpoint format and competitors will be able to compete on all routes set (approx. 20-25 routes). Routes will be numbered based on difficulty, and competitors top 3 routes will give them their score. - Climbers will have 3 hours to climb (this 3 hour slot includes warm up time, as there will be no additional climbing time prior to the start of each session). Volunteer judges will be posted throughout the climbing area. Categories Competitors will be broken up by age and by birth year for placement, and will compete against those in their category and gender. The age category breakdown is as follows by birth year: - Category 1: Born in 2014 or later (youngest) - Category 2: Born in 2012-2013 - Category 3: Born in 2009-2011 - Category 4: Born in 2006-2008 - Category 5: Born in 2004-2005 (oldest) Schedule There are two available sessions for any climber of any age or gender to attend, however spots are limited for each so register early to reserve your spot in a specific session! Session 1 Check-in Opens: 6:45 am Rules Meeting: 7:20 am Climbing Begins: 7:30 am Climbing Ends: 10:30 am Session 2 Check-in Opens: 10:15 Rules Meeting: 10:50 am Climbing Begins: 11:00am Climbing Ends: 2:00 pm Awards Ceremony To Follow! From being the first to greet the athletes during check-in, to judging during the climbing round, to handing out t-shirts, volunteers make or break the energy of the day. Volunteering helps climbers relax knowing they have the support of their family and friends nearby.
