Exploring is an interactive, worksite-based career education program of Learning for Life, an affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America. The program serves young men and women who are 14 through 20 years old. This Explorer Post will introduce you to an assortment of educational opportunities that all lead to careers that are rich in technology and hands-on learning. We will be meeting once a month at CPCC’s Harper Campus. In each of these meetings you will experience what it would be like to have a career in high demand areas like graphic arts, construction management, interior design, architecture, welding, nondestructive examination, and electrical technologies. All of these program’s graduates are in high demand due to and increasing rate of retirements in the current workforce and a lack of fresh, educated talent coming into the industries. An education in a skilled trades will equip you with the skills to be competitive in full of technology and opportunities. • All meetings will take place on CPCC’s Harper Campus at 315 W. Hebron Street, Charlotte, NC 28273 • There is a registration fee is $75 (cash/check) paid at the first-nighter. Checks made out to “Mecklenburg County Council, BSA” • There is a cap of 12 participants • Meetings will run from 6:00 PM till 7:30 PM Schedule • Sept. 14 - Graphic Arts - Adobe Applications • Oct. 12 - Graphic Arts - Print and Packaging • Nov. 9 - Nondestructive Examination • Dec. 7 - Nondestructive/Welding • Jan. 25 - Construction Management • Feb. 15 - Electrical Systems Technology • March 15 - Architecture • April 12 - Interior Design
