Sunnyside Road/surrounding area residents: Whoever owns a medium-sized grey merle dog with blue eyes and ears that stand upright (looks like a heeler mix) needs to keep their dog contained somehow. I have shooed it away from my property multiple times in the last 1.5 weeks but today it came around and chased, caught and wounded one of my chickens.
Please pass this post on to anyone you know in the area who owns a dog like this, or who might know someone who owns a dog like this. For the dog's safety, it just can't be loose anymore! Many people own chickens and livestock around here and will defend their property however they need to.
Arkansas law favors the owner of injured/killed domesticated animals, not the dog owner:
Arkansas Code 20-19-102 (2017) - Injuries to domesticated animals:
2) A person knowing that a dog has killed or is about to catch, injure, or kill a domesticated animal has the right to kill the dog, without liability to the owner of the dog.
PLEASE HELP YOUR DOG! KEEP IT SAFE AND CONTAINED!
