This event is free, and no preparation or knowledge of poetry is necessary to participate. For anyone who enjoys poetry or learning more about poets in a conversational setting, this informal gathering includes many opportunities to contribute to the conversation and ask questions. It is also a great way to meet people in the community who have similar interests.
This month’s topic will focus on poems from the first African American poet laureate and a senior female voice in American poetry, Rita Dove.
The Aging and the Arts Poetry Circle will meet in the Dorothy Rubel Room at The University of Arizona Poetry Center. The event venue offers appropriate room for social distancing, and the University of Arizona recommends the use of face coverings in indoor settings.
The University of Arizona Poetry Center is located at 1508 E. Helen St. Tucson, AZ 85721. Complimentary parking will be available adjacent to the building.
Please register by September 16.
