Yoga for the Root Chakra What to expect from this class: Chakras are wheels of energy that travel up the spinal cord, through which prana (our life force + breath) flows. The first chakra - located at the base of the spine - is commonly referred to as the root chakra. This 60-minute class will aim to restore balance to this chakra center, bringing sensations of stability, vitality, and grounding. About the Instructor: Born and raised in Miami, Karina spent a large chunk of her childhood dancing classical ballet and singing in her church's choir. Little did she know, this foundation in the arts would influence her commitment to weave mindfulness and healing modalities into the rhythms of her everyday life. After transitioning out of the dance world at 17 years old, Karina discovered Yoga as an alternative form of what she deems "movement as medicine." In the fall of 2020, she received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification and has been teaching Vinyasa Yoga classes catered toward all ages and levels ever since. In the past year alone, she has extended her teaching repertoire to include Children's Yoga, Mommy and Me Yoga, and Yoga for Chakra Alignment. Incorporating aromatherapy and immersive guided meditations into her classes, Karina likes to use variety and creativity to awaken each student's inner spirit by the final savasana meditation.
