Want the best soap ever for all skin types? Check out my Kickstarter campaign Ancient Suds wants to provide simple quality soap that is safe and effective for all skin types. My goal is to gain funding in order to expand a service I provide for my family and friends into a business that can provide quality hypoallergenic soap to anyone who needs it. I want to provide a soap option that is not only safe and effective for people with sensitive skin, but also beneficial to anyone who uses it. Everyone should be able to enjoy a luxurious soap that moisturizes your skin and also actually cleans your skin without using tons of potentially damaging chemicals, or natural compounds like seed oils that can cause reactions in some people. Ancient Suds is a company born of necessity, and a desire to find a better safer soap option for my family. Both my wife and son suffer from eczema and sensitive skin. And we have tried various soaps with varying success. In my research to find a better soap I found that only 3 ingredients are required to make soap. FAT LYE WATER The first soaps made by humanity were made from just these 3 ingredients. They used water, lye from wood ash, and tallow rendered from animal fat. Water and lye are still used today but do to modernization and recent cultural sensitivities tallow has all but completely fallen out of use for soap production. The problem this creates is that the benefits that are naturally in tallow such as moisturizers, vitamins, minerals, antimicrobial and antifungal properties, as well as natural hardeners and preservatives must be replaced by a cocktail of synthetic chemicals and additives. Modern soaps also rely of seed based oils for the required fat in the mixture. There is a growing number of people who are sensitive to these oils and can have an inflammatory response. Ancient Suds soap is made with only the 3 primary ingredients, food grade lye, non distilled well water from a natural aquifer, and grass fed beef tallow. We also add Orange essential oil to all but the unscented soap. Orange oil does have many benefits, but we only use a small amount to give the soap a pleasant but not perfumey scent. All the ingredients we use are FDA food grade certified. We believe if something is not a quality enough product to be put inside our bodies it shouldn't be used on the outside of our bodies.
