Job description: MPE is looking for a Rail Technician here in Portland. To work at the rail yard, on-site unloading of trailers into rail cars. We are willing to train and cert. the right person that wants to help get things done and make a difference and help grow our business. You will perform various coordinating tasks in the field, including the use of company resources, logistics, and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling samples. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, and be willing to work outside year-round. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities • Be on time and prepared to work. Able to work with other employees. • Loading and unloading trailers into railcars. • Following Procedures. • Follow detailed instructions and safety protocols. • Use of safety equipment and proper PPE always. • Use a variety of containers and equipment to sample, remove and load wastes. • Able to work outside, in weather conditions. • Use a variety of hand tools and power tools. • Use movement of MPE or rental equipment safety. • Maintain sound client/customer relationships during the performance of duties. • Accurate and detailed paperwork • Cleaning area and organization of our Conex and other equipment. • Safety, quality control, and supplies inventory. • Wash trucks and bin maintenance and cleaning. • Not leaving the work area without authorization and checking in. • Sampling and other duties as assigned. • Able to drive a pickup.
