Description
Help restock food pantries that sustain New Yorkers in need!
The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) supports the Lower East Side and wider NYC community with human services and community development programs. While the majority of services are oriented to older adults, UJCES also has programs for families and children. UJCES volunteers are essential to our mission as we serve New Yorkers.
DETAILS:
We are looking for student or corporate groups of up to 10 volunteers to help bring new food pantry items inside our pantry from a truck delivery, and organize items, to restock our pantries.
Instructions are provided on site. Tasks include bending and lifting heavy materials. This opportunity involves unloading items from a truck outdoors and bringing them into an indoor facility, rain or shine.
