Description
Looking for a JR partner for a Sound and Lighting and Staging business Hi, I’m Craig and I own a production company called Tech Works. Tech Works provides Audio, Stage and Area lighting, A/V, Staging and Backline (equipment rentals like drums, keyboards and amps) for concerts and events in the area. We specialize in small to medium sized events. Some of our recent gigs include Sound/Lighting/Staging/Backline for a 4 day music festival in McGill, Backline for a band in Mammoth Lakes, Sound/Staging for a political rally in Reno, Backline for a band in Truckee, Sound for a corporate meeting in Reno and Sound/Lighting/Backline for a band from NY playing a wedding in CA. This week we are doing a 2 day festival in Bishop, CA. You can visit our website to learn more about the company here: www.TechWorksReno DOT com I’m also the Senior Contributing Editor of Live Sound International magazine and was the Lighting Director for the Rio Casino Convention Center in Las Vegas when I first moved out west. I bring a lot of experience (and equipment) to the table. I’m looking for a person to be a Junior Partner in the business, making a percentage of the profit. I’m not looking for an investment of money, I am looking for an investment of time and labor. Who might be a good fit? A former DJ or musician who enjoys the technical aspects of show biz and likes to make shows happen. I say former because if you are still performing your gigs would often conflict with our production gigs. A person who works or worked in tech theater in school or community theater and enjoys the backstage challenges of production and making shows happen. A tech who is currently working for themselves or another company who wants to grow and do this for a living but does not have the tens-to-hundreds of thousands of investment or the experience required to start their own company. Basically, the ideal candidate will be a working technician who wants to grow and own their own business. You would be involved in all aspects of the business from marketing to loading a truck to pushing faders at a show. You don’t have to know everything about event production. I can teach you about what we do and point you to some great web resources. To apply: Check out the website to learn about the company, then send me an email including your experience and what you can bring to the table. Include a resume if you have one. Thanks, Craig
