Tour the Rite-Hite Global Headquarters, currently under construction in the Walker's Point neighborhood of Milwaukee. Rite-Hite is the global leader in the manufacture of loading dock and door safety systems and in-plant equipment. Attendees will tour both the research & development building as well as waterfront office building. PPE will be required. Learning Objectives: Explore how the rich history of the project site, as a former rail yard, trucking facility, and its location along the former ‘Milwaukee Road’ informed design process and built project. Identify why this brownfield development within Reed Street Yards business park was the ideal location to consolidate multiple existing Milwaukee-area operational sites into a single campus. Recognize the design and mobilization impacts of direct adjacency to the Menomonee River, as well as Hank Aaron State Trail and riverwalk which have remained in use throughout construction. Examine considerations for the skywalk connection over Freshwater Way including structural engineering, floor elevations and topography, along with the City of Milwaukee approval process for air space lease.
