“Liturgy,” a one-man show written and performed by Br. Joe Hoover, S.J., and directed by Jim Shankman, ran for four performances April 21-23, 2022 at the American Theatre for Actors on West 56th St., NY, NY. Set at a Sunday Mass, we get a comic glimpse inside the mind of the ordinary man in the pews. While going through the rituals of liturgy, he ruminates on his marriage, his religious faith, Mass translations...oh, and then there's this new woman at the office. The director called the work "a play about moral self-deception." You are encouraged to wear a mask to safeguard against Covid-19.
