Learn to build confidence and various aspects of what it takes to be an actor or a public speaker with this fun class. Each week we will learn various aspects of what it takes to be an actor or a public speaker or perhaps just builds some stage confidence and have lots of fun in the process. Theatre games, storytelling, character- development will be introduced. Lots of fun skits, improvisation and monologues. Scripts will be provided. If all goes well, perhaps a Christmas variety show displaying all your hard work. Taught by the owner, director at Hullabaloo Performing Arts Theatre. Instructor bio: Christina has been directing and teaching the youth – singing, acting, dancing, over 35 years. She opened Hullabaloo Performing Arts Theatre in 2016 to meet the need for youths to perform. From 1996-2014, she founded and directed Ohio’s Youth Entertainers Stage Show - a vaudeville variety show that performed all over Ohio, Nashville, NYC, Washington DC, Memphis, Chicago, Boston, and made a few TV appearances. She has a BME in voice from OSU, studied acting and dance and performed extensively in Chicago & New York. Many theatrical productions, industrial, commercials, films, variety revues, and modeling have taken her all over the country. She has taught music in the public schools, voice and piano privately, & directed countless youth productions. She taught musical theater and improv at Denison University, was Weathervane’s Jr. Theatre director for 4 years, and has been active in local playhouses. She has been a featured entertainer and judge in the Miss America affiliated pageants. As a singer, opened for many great celebrities such as Wayne Newton, Starship, Country Roadhouse Tour, among others. She also is the vocalist and flautist for the jazz band, “The UltraSounds”. She has twin teenage boys and lives in Granville. It is a drop-off eligible class * see parent handbook for specific restrictions. Parent/sibling hangout is located in the cafe.
