guitar/bass player looking to start something new

Description

I'm turning 40 soon, am in western MA, and have been out of the music scene for the entirety of the pandemic. My last band also had to dissolve just prior to the pandemic, and unfortunately the rest is our global shared history. I haven't been super prolific during this time, but I feel like I've been getting more fresh ideas as of late. Lots of guitar rock, indie rock, some heavy riffs, playing with some interesting chords. I've been entirely on acoustic this whole time, haven't really played bass much lately. I have some rough songs and basic ideas, but I work best when playing off others bouncing around ideas. I'd love to put together a power trio at the very least, but ideally a quartet. While I'm open to switching guitar/bass duties, I'm no drummer nor keyboard player. Two guitars would be good to have to fill out the sound. It goes without saying that the drummer must be absolutely solid. A band is only as good as its drummer. I enjoy bands like Failure, Hum, Slowdive, Earth, and a lot of Neil Young. No real goals besides making some art. Recording and gigging are really low on my list. The occasional performance would be fine, but this is not meant to be a weekend warrior project. I want to write songs, get better, and help each other stretch musically. If the above interests you, please reach out! I will take serious requests, from individuals of any gender identity or age (though 30+ please if possible, just so our schedules and attitudes could potentially match better). I have basic equipment of my own, nothing major, but no practice room or other pro equipment at the moment. So let's talk and see where we're at! Thanks for reading.
