Come help us take care of our rescue animals. Hours: Monday and Wednesday mornings for approximately 4 hours each day. Specific hours are flexible as long as work is finished by 1pm. We'd love to find someone who can do both days but please contact us even if you can only do one of the days. Pay - $18-$20 The Job: Cleaning cages and enclosures for between 8 - 25 bunnies housed in two air-conditioned shed buildings and main house. * Empty litterboxes into compost cans, wipe the boxes, and refill with wood pellets and fresh hay * Vacuum the cage areas and shed floors * Replace linens for bunnies who are on towels or fleece, shake dirty towels, and put them in the laundry area * Dust cages with a swiffer * Clean and refill water towers, wash food bowls * Vacuum bunny enclosures in main house * If time permits, cut up parsley and lettuce to make salad for the bunnies and store in fridges * As needed, refill wood pellet supply from one shed to another (requires lifting ~two to six 40lb bags on and off of carts each shift) * Pet and talk to bunnies as you work! * Let Angie know if you see anything that needs her attention, like low supplies. Work environment: We keep our shelter clean and organized. All of our bunnies are spayed and neutered, so the litterboxes don’t have a strong smell. Cleaning is done three times a week so dirt does not build up. Our bunnies are also vaccinated against the RHDV2 virus. We will ask you to take basic biosecurity precautions, including keeping a pair of shoes for use only at our shelter.
