On the corner of 9th street and Avenue A. I: Somewhat shy, wearing black and a colorful bandana. You: a beautiful smile in a black and white dress with a clasp in the back that was open. I know this because I had noticed how gorgeous you were in another spot where we were both dancing. I was pleasantly surprised to see you on the corner later. Fumbling in my pockets for a light, you gave me a matchbox and told me to keep it. I did manage to return the matchbox a few minutes later. Shall we find some other corner somewhere to meet? I will bring coffees or beers, and would be thrilled to smoke three cigarettes in your company to get to know you better. Who knows, maybe we will want to dance another time...
