really need plumbing fixed on kitchen sink

I just want to be able to do dishes in the sink rather than the tub. I tried to fix it myself but whomever did the plumbing....was not so bright. I have it rigged up to work but then the issue arose that it won't drain and I've tried snaking it. If anyone can help it would be a huge blessing. Thank you.
