One clearly sees by reading your post that guns are very important to you. That being said, one also might hope you would explore all sides of the issue, and not offer kneejerk reactions towards those opposing views. • The "gun free" societies you pictorially mention are in fact highly armed. It is only certain segments of "undesirables" within the culture that are strictly and ruthlessly forbidden to possess arms. • How sad the irony escapes those who embrace a bastardized interpretation of the 2nd Amendment; fail to realize that the guns they worship, obsess over, are machines designed solely for the purpose of taking a human life (handguns and assault rifles.) These same folk then call themselves "pro-life" when it comes to the authoritarian control of women re: reproductive choices. • To "avoid guns" is never "easy" as you state. It is a hard decision. Breaking a collective addiction to a powerful Freudian symbol of sexuality and power is never "easy." In fact, it takes courage and faith. It is what most major religions suggest is preferable. • There are reasons we don't allow citizens to possess nuclear material, biological and chemical weapons. It is time to acknowledge that guns have never made civilians safer, more responsible creatures. In fact, the exact opposite is daily demonstrated. It is time we face harsh realities and stop the gun insanity.
