Swap it - Mend it - Circulate it at our semi-annual clothing swap and repair day! This season we are fundraising for the local mutual aid group Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund (EMAF) to help those living in and traveling into Eastern Massachusetts access abortion. Bring garments that you are no longer lovin' on and that have plenty of life left - AND / OR - bring those garments that need repairs or that you need altered or customized! EVENT WILL FEATURE: On-site simple repairs by local seamstresses and tailorsFitting room and try on areasCommunity connection and good vibes!WHAT YOU CAN BRING AND TO PARTICIPATE IN SWAP! Please consider the season - when bringing items as this helps them swap better. No one needs linen pants in the wintertime! Bring three to 15 pieces of clothing including accessories Activewear is welcome!Accessories can include: hats, bags, scarves, shoes, belts, gloves/ mittensMall brands, fast fashion brands, any brand of item that still has lots of life left, is clean and without funky smells or irreparable damage!Accessories include hats, bags, belts, and shoes.ALL GENDERS, ALL SIZES PLEASE!BYOB - Bring your own bagsClothing and items MUST BE in good condition, wearable and clean, with no smells, holes, or irreparable damage. Accessories must also be clean, functioning, and with lots of life left. ABSOLUTELY NO underwear, heavily worn shoes, dirty or irreparably damaged clothes. Please consider fellow swappers and those of us having to dispose of the garments. HANGERS Note : Clothing that requires hanging (dresses, coats) MUST BE ON HANGERS - this helps them display and swap better. We will not provide hangers! You can take your hangers home with you once the swap is over or if hangers become available during the swap. It will be difficult to keep track of whose is whose, so feel comfortable donating the hangers you provide or choosing to not take others home. REPAIRS are NOT FREE (unless stated by seamstress) Repair fees and costs will be managed by seamstresses and tailors individually and are not managed by We Thieves. COST: This swap cost covers the use of Warehouse XI, admin and clean up fees, and helps us fundraise for EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS ABORTION FUND. Please register here so we can have a rough idea of how many folks to expect. After the swap is over, We Thieves will donate highly wearable items to On The Rise Cambridge and Cambridge Clothing and Textiles Recycling for proper disposal. Start creating your stashes and we'll start finalizing all the details so we can create a great event! We Thieves will be contacting all participants via email with information regarding clothing and swap PRIOR to the event. So stay tuned for updates.
