The Smart City/Internet of Things Maker Faire is a showcase of invention and creativity. The goal of the maker faire is to show off things people have made, network, connect share and inspire others to be makers. It is a gathering of makers to showcase their work, present their ideas, and to connect with other makers. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds.
The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow the maker community.
"Smart Cities" is an umbrella term that covers Smart Homes, Smart Buildings, Smart Roads, Smart Transportation, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Agriculture, Smart Environmental Management, Smart Factories, Smart Retail, etc. It can include automating all operations of a City or industry. It doesn't mean city staff are replaced, but can focus on strategies, management, etc. Smart Cities require collaboration between Government, Cities, Tech Companies and Entrepreneurs. Connect with Utah's Smart City Community!
We encourage (not required) that exhibits and demonstrations be interactive or hands-on for your attendees and to highlight the process of making things — the how and the why.
