Teens age 13-18 are invited to attend (virtually or in-person) a monthly club meeting on Ham Radio. Learn more about the applied science, engineering, technology, and math behind Amateur Radio Communication, as well as the service element for licencees, and the generous and plentiful scholarship opportunities available to teens who study for and pass their Amateur Radio Licensing Exam.
Each month, we'll have a guest speaker from the Austin Amateur Radio Club come and present a workshop on a different topic, and will have hands-on opportunities (for in person participants) to design and test antennas and other equipment, participate in challenges and contests, and more.
Our club will be hosted by Teen Services staff at the Central Library, as well as Kelley Janes, former high school physics and astronomy teacher, who will help connect the dots about what we're experimenting with to the science and math underpinning everything in Amateur Radio.
