Doors will open at 6:30pm, programs will begin promptly at 7:00pm.,followed by a general business meeting and then casual socializing. To kick off September, we will have Blake Schmidt, our DWC fine arts scholarship winner, do a cooking demonstration. Blake graduated from Eisenhower JHS where he received the President’s award for outstanding academic excellence. He is active in sports and music, but his main interest is culinary. Blake was just seen on this season of MasterChef Junior-Season 8. Blake scored in the top 16. He said he had a great time in the Master Chef kitchen meeting Gordon Ramsay and making friends across the country. Blake has been a chef-in-training since the age of 3. He started taking classes at the local park district, then adult classes at Wilton and Marcel’s. Recently, he met up with Martha Stewart and she gave him tips and a copy of her book: Cookies.
