Please join us for our first in-person Chapter meeting since February of 2020! We invite you to arrive half hour early for a no-host happy hour. This will give you time to mix and mingle with colleagues. Then, we will enjoy a delicious empanadas dinner sponsored by Perigen and a 1 hour lecture by Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, Alex Soffici MD. Objectives: Describe the difference between a screening test and a diagnostic test. Compare the current state of the art for prenatal screening and diagnostic screening. Discuss implications of genetic testing on pregnancy and the mother/baby dyad. Description: The presentation will review the current State of the Art of prenatal diagnosis for genetic conditions as well as anatomical conditions. We will review the science behind screening versus diagnostic testing. We will also review the current technology and detection rates for various anomalies, along with implications for pregnancy care and labor and delivery management. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, BRN Provider Number 4096, for one (1) contact hour.
