Description

Fresh Approach is a nonprofit organization that aims to create long-term change in local food systems, by connecting California communities with healthy food from California farmers and expanding knowledge about food and nutrition. As part of the industrious EPA community, they seek to foster more communal growing, sharing, and eating of fresh, local produce. The Collective Roots Gardening Program provides an opportunity for gardening skill-building, resource sharing, and community empowerment at Collective Roots community garden. Through their workshops, volunteer workdays, and community resources, they equip families with the skills and means to grow their own fresh fruits and vegetables. Help plant, maintain, and harvest their community and educational gardens in East Palo Alto, while learning the basics of organic gardening and enjoying being part of the community. We ask that you bring your own gardening gloves, masks, and water bottles every time you volunteer with us. We encourage you to bring your own tools if possible. We will provide the tools which will require pre and post sanitation practices from our volunteers. Please review the available slots on our sign up calendar (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904044aaaa922a6fa7-volunteer) to sign up. Volunteer workday groups are limited to a total of 6 households (max of 12 volunteers per workday). Please indicate if you are bringing another volunteer. Thank you! All volunteers must complete our application/waiver at: https://www.tfaforms.com/4772061
