Description
The Sunday event is a Classic Wiffle Ball Tournament. The entry fee is $1000 per team, and 16 teams will participate in a double-elimination tournament. Each team will need a minimum of 4 players, and there is no maximum of players. Each game will consist of 3 innings or a 25-minute time limit, whichever comes first. The team that wins will take home the championship prize. Rules: Standardized bat and balls (Bat and balls will be provided)4 player team minimum, no maximumThe games will be 3 innings or 25 minutes; if a game is tied at 25 minutes, then there will be 5 minutes of extra play to determine the winner; if there is no winner at the end of the extra 5 minutes, then the winner will be determined by whoever was leading in previous innings. If there was no leader throughout the game, there will be a hit-off where each team will select one player to face in the hit-off; each player will get one chance to hit the ball; whoever hits the ball the furthest wins; therefore, their team advances.Only 4 players are allowed in the field for the fielding team, but you can have as many people batting as you wantWhile batting, you are out if you get 3 strikes, and if you get 4 balls, you get a free base. There will be a square strikes zone behind home plate; if the pitcher hits the strike zone, it’s a strike; if the pitcher misses, it’s a ball; if you swing and miss, then it counts as a strike no matter if the pitcher hits the strike zone or not.The pitcher does have a speed limit; the pitcher can’t exceed the speed limit of 46 mph; if they do, the batter will be rewarded with a ball.If the batter has 2 strikes on them, they only get 1 foul ball, if they hit a foul ball after the first one, it counts as the third strike, and they are out.If you are hit with the ball while batting, the count resets to a 0-0 count. There is no running in this game; we will be using “Ghost” runners as runners. If the ball is hit on the ground and the fielders or pitcher fields the ball clean (meaning no bobbles), then you are out; if you hit the ball in the air and the pitcher or fielder catches the ball, then you are out.If the ball is hit on the ground and rolls past the infielder or is bobbled, then it counts as a singleIf the ball is hit on the ground and rolls past the outfielders, it counts as a doubleIf the ball is hit over the outfielder's head and isn’t caught, it counts as a triple. It is a home run if the ball is hit over the fence. To move a runner to the next base or to score, all runners must be forced over; the batter will need to match where the runner is at or do better to move or score them; For example, if there is a runner on second base, the batter will need to hit a double or better to score that runner if they get a single then there is now a runner on first and second, or if there is a runner at first. The batter hits a double; then the runner also moves 2 bases, putting the runners at third and second base. There are no double plays; the fielders can only get one out at a time.
