On Saturday, we are hosting The Bryce Strong Home Run Derby. There will be 30 spots for the qualifying round (First come, First serve). Participation in the Homerun Derby will cost $150. For the qualifying round, participants must be at the field by 4:00 pm for a briefing of the rules, and they need to bring their own pitcher (one will be provided if you are unable to bring one). In the qualifying round, each competitor will have 2 minutes to hit as many home runs as possible. The top 8 participants with the most home runs will move on to the double-elimination style tournament. The double-elimination tournament will start at 5:30 pm. The gameplay is a 1 vs. 1 style, and each participant gets 3 minutes, plus a 30-second timeout, to hit as many home runs as they can to beat their competitor. The winner of the two will advance to face other winners, while the loser goes down into the loser bracket to try and compete to get to the championship. The winner will get a championship prize. Rules: All players will get 3 minutes to hit as many home runs as possible.Each player will get a 30-second timeout used at their discretion.When a participant hits 4 consecutive home runs, they get an additional 10 seconds added to their time, and during those 10 seconds, they can hit as many “Bonus Balls” as they can.Bonus Balls count as 2 home runs per ball.The batting participant will get to select a pitcher to pitch to them during the competition.The bracket play is double elimination, so each participant will have to lose twice to be out (except for the championship game, which is the winner takes all).The bat and balls will be provided, so please don’t bring your own.You win by hitting more home runs than the person you are competing against.
