Description
I'm a rhythm guitarist and my friend is a vocalist.
We're looking to put together a metal band with a vaguely goth, theatrical vibe. More than just people on stage in jeans and t shirts. Some degree of costuming will be part of it, and maybe some make-up.
We're looking for a drummer, bassist, and keyboard player. Maybe a second guitarist if our styles mesh well.
A few requirements on your part:
-You need to be LGBTQ friendly. The vocalist is gay and wants to do some drag as part of his stage persona, so you have to be cool with that.
-Preferably left-leaning political views. Nothing against you if you lean right, but you might not be cool with some of the song topics and lyrical content. I don't want to ask someone to play on a song they disagree with the message of.
-No hard drug use. We don't care if you drink or smoke weed, but if you're into harder stuff you won't be a good fit.
We don't care what race, gender, religion, or anything else you are aside from what I mentioned above.
Short list of influences to give you an idea of the vibe we're going for:
Nightwish, Rob Zombie, Avatar, Slipknot, In This Moment, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, GWAR, and a bunch of other stuff in the same vein.
You don't have to be an amazing musician, I'm an average player on a good day. Enthusiasm and being on the same page is more important to us than your skill level. That said, I don't want to have to teach someone how to play, so knowing your way around your instrument is important.
Sorry if all that seems too specific, but we're looking for the right people. I just wanted to lay it all out there from the start so there's no conflicts with potential bandmates.
I'm not holding much hope that I'll find 3 or 4 band members on Craigslist, but I figured it's worth a shot.
