Join us as we celebrate the dynamic duo, Ginger Ontiveros and her tireless administrative assistant, Gracie Hernandez. When the San Bernardino City Unified School District repurposed and relaunched the Community and School Alliance (CaSA) as the Making Hope Happen Foundation in 2016, the goal was that Ginger would serve as Executive Director until the Foundation was able to fly on its own. While remaining a Cabinet-level employee of the District, Ginger, under the auspices of MHHF's Board of Directors, grew the team and Foundation from a $300,000 nonprofit to $2.2 million in just six years, including during an international pandemic. None of that would have been possible without Gracie's tenacity and attention to detail, so we're throwing them a party. They aren't leaving us entirely, but Ginger's role in the top spot is being handed off to the MHHF's first staff executive director, Niki Dettman. Gracie will continue to provide support to Niki and help during the transition. Help us as we say "thank you" to both of them.
