Description

Networking is great, but doing life together is even better! One of the best ways to build authentic relationships is to spend time together giving back to our community. Connect for a Cause is a series of volunteer missions where we have an opportunity to support one of our many local non-profit members while getting to know each other outside of the business environment. During the month of September, we have partnered with a great organization where our members will have a hands-on experience making a difference in Kalamazoo County. Join us on on Thursday, September 22 from 3 to 4:30 pm to be part of the restoration process of two WWII aircraft, The Douglas Dauntless SBD-1 and FM-2 Wildcat! Both historic aircraft met a watery fate when WWII pilots trained with carriers steaming through Lake Michigan. Now, join other Chamber members as we work alongside the highly trained restoration team to help them bring the planes back to their original look. Once completed, these restored planes will be on display at a national museum in Texas. Space is limited, so RSVP today! About the Air Zoo Restoration Team The Air Zoo boasts a world-renowned restoration department, which serves as the heart of the Flight Discovery Center. Restoration volunteers are on-site seven days a week to give an up-close and personal look at some incredible aircraft being carefully restored right on the exhibit floor. This is a unique volunteer opportunity to work beside the restoration team to help them ignite the future by restoring history!
