. We're ringing in the New Year the best way we know how: with post-apocolyptic style comp. This is a modified redpoint bouldering competition with an exciting onsight finale at the very end! The details: This comp is 16+ only! Competitors will be split into three 3 hour blocks (You can choose your block during registration)- Block 1: 9am-12pm (Check-in starts at 8:30a) Block 2: 1pm-4pm (Check-in starts at 12:30pm) Block 3: 5pm-8pm (Check-in starts at 4:30pm) **If you are competing in Open or believe you might make open finals, we ask that you register for the evening session. Additionally, the evening session is the only session that will be able to watch finals on site! You'll have 3 hours to crush the boulders set for your category. All scores must be entered by the end of your block time. This is our FIRST modified redpoint comp at Summit and we are psyched to bring a new format for scoring at competing to our members. Scoring is based on your tops and attempts on each boulder problem. Scoring is honor system- so please, no cheating! Beer/Drinks will be provided after each session. Please note that due to COVID-19 and the size of the Denton gym, food will not be provided at this competition. At 8pm, we'll tally up scores and announce our finalists. 5 men and women in both Open category will move on to compete in finals! Setters will go to work getting our two boulders on the wall for each category, and finals will begin at 9pm. Standing space will be designated to enforce social distancing during finals spectating. Once finals are over, we will announce winners, give out awards, and then party in the parking lot until the sun comes up! (Not really, this shindig ends at 10:30pm) Category breakdown: Beginner: VB - V2 (White, Green, and Yellow) Intermediate: V2 - V4 (Red and Blue) Advanced: V5 - V8 (Orange and Purple) Elite: V8+ (Pink and Black) For some more incentive, here are the prizes (men and women are in separate categories!)
