Production Worker Western Roller Corporation (WRC) has an immediate need and wants to hire a Production Worker. Active and inactive military is encouraged to apply. This position is full-time, long-term, and available today. WRC is a long-established Bend Oregon manufacturer that supplies OEM and end users with high quality urethane solutions. A few of the industries we serve are wood product milling and secondary markets, agriculture, mining, material handling, medical, food processing, and aerospace. Although we offer our basic product lines; we also develop product lines for Original Equipment Manufacturers and process custom work. We are a production shop, but the work is diverse and never boring. The candidate we hire needs to be thoughtful in planning and be able to work independently. Training is provided and previous experience not required. WRC has been in business for 48 years and our employee’s average tenure is around 8-12 years. No micromanaging here just accountability to do the work. Management style is firm, fair, and consistent allowing people to do the work they were hired to do. What does a Production Worker do? Our production workers select proprietary curatives, polymers, and additional additives based on formulations. They heat, weigh, add pigment, mix, degas, and pour the polyurethane into open cast molds. Molds are then staged into a urethane oven for curing then demolded. Demolded products are then staged into a post curing oven and the open cast molds cleaned and prepped for another round of pours. They may cut tubing on a lathe, sandblast metal parts, clean with solvents, or spray parts with bonding agents so that our urethane adheres to the steel. Our primary product is urethane tires and that’s what our formulators make - tires. The ideal candidate would have solid math skills, excellent verbal, and written communication be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Have a passion to work with hands and make something from nothing. If you have previous experience in production, polyurethane experience, machining, or perhaps were a chef or in the food processing industry this is likely a good fit for you. For the right candidate this position may evolve into Urethane Machine Operator. 7am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday Responsibilities: · Review Production Reports · Plan Production According to Priorities · Learn and Apply Training to Formulate Urethane · Develop Correct Pouring Technique · Keep Accurate Account of Raw Materials and Inventory · Formulate Urethane Recipes · Mix, Pour, Demold Urethane Parts · Lifting or Moving 10-15lbs (80%), 25lbs (15%) 50lbs (5%) of the time.
