This is the progression of the technology. "" ** Speaking of "Technology", maybe Newsom needs to get California's electrical grid up to speed before 2035 as well. We currently have black-outs and brown-outs, and people being asked to not run their A/C during certain hours. We don't have nearly enough electrical CAPACITY to meet the demands of electric car charging. We're at less than 50% of where we need to be. They talk about increasing the number of charging stations, but not increasing the CAPACITY of the grid. BIG PROBLEM. FYI: Electric vehicles when on 'fast-charge' mode, can pull as much electricity as four household A/C units. 40% of our electricity still comes from coal. Only about 12% of our electricity comes from 'renewable' sources. Newsom needs to remedy THAT situation, before we can take on more electric cars. Here's a suggestion: If electric car owners really want to be able to say they are "emissions-free", they should ONLY charge their batteries using solar or wind power. ** The 400 pound gorilla in the room that everyone is ignoring: We don't have 'too much' CO2 in the atmosphere. We are actually running LOW.
