Description
There is an Anhinga bird at Memorial Park, off of Jackson street in port orange. He has had heavy piece of string wrapped around his beak for 9 days now. I check on him every day and he is on the lawn. I have called every number there is, fish and wild life, police, sheriff dept, wildlife rescue in deleon springs, no one can help the poor bird. I bought a casting net last night but I do not know how to use it.
He does go into the pond and he will submerge himself for a few minutes, probably trying to drink water or eat something, but to no avail. I will be there again at 3:30 to check on him.
I will pay someone $100 if they can catch him and take the string off. there may be a hook in his mouth, not sure. I know getting the hook out will be difficult but maybe just getting the string off of his beak will help keep him alive.
Please call Terri at
, I want to be there when the bird is helped (just to make sure that he was assisted)
