Do you enjoy watching birds? Did you know that birdwatching is a gateway to a powerful mindfulness practice? It’s called a ‘bird sit’.
A bird sit is an outdoor meditation with a focus on birds. It provides similar benefits to mindfulness practices, including relaxation and quiet mind. It also cultivates a deeper awareness of the birds around us and reveal the birds’ secret languages.
How it Works: We will warm up with a sensory meditation and learn the top 5 voices of the birds. We will then find our sit spots in the arboretum for a 20-min bird sit. Then, we circle up to share what we noticed in the bird ecology and in ourselves.
Who: Molly Tsongas leads bird sits for the Audubon Society and Bird Mentor.
Where: We will meet in the Arboretum behind Great Cape Herbs and Snowy Owl in Brewster, MA. There is a brick fire circle towards the back of the Arboretum where we will gather.
