Join us for a a special night of salsa & dance in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, hosted by Christine Shoshannah featuring Cuboricua Salsa Band! Friday 9/23 doors at 7pm $30 Advance/ $40 at door Silk Factory 299 Washington St. Newburgh, NY With performances by the sensational Latin fusion band, Cuboricua, followed by award winning Latina vocalist & songwriter, Christine Shoshannah! A portion of proceeds will go to non-profit organization Safe Harbors of the Hudson Valley. About the show: Christine Shoshannah is a multi-platinum songwriter, award winning vocalist and music producer from Newburgh, New York most known for her hit song “Airplanes” by B.o.B ft Hayley Williams of Paramore plus Grammy nominated “Airplanes PT 2” ft Eminem. Christine is a pop, r&b music producer with influences stemming from J.Lo and Whitney Houston to Justin Bieber & Ariana Grande. The name Cuboricua was inspired by the music of Cuba and Puerto Rico. Cuboricua identifies with the rhythms and melodies of the caribbean; Salsa, Son, Rumba, Bomba, Plena, as well as Merengue. The veteran musicians of this conjunto, to their credit, have performed and recorded with world renown artists such as Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Monguito "el unico", los Kimbos, and the New Swing Sextet to name a few. This conjunto creates a traditional/modern energetic sound by placing the interlocking rhythmic figures of percussion and Cuban Tres under a smoothly swinging melody to create a new sound! All levels of Salsa dancing skills are welcome! Come learn or be the one to show them how it’s done ;)
