Would you like to be responsible for a 25,000-pound truck, smash things all day long, drive a consistent/local daily route, and save our customers a ton of money? We are seeking a Truck Driver/Smash Operator to join our Smash My Trash team! You will be responsible for safely operating our trucks on a daily local route. Trucks are outfitted with a 3-ton rolling drum on a boom that you operate to pulverize the contents of open-top waste containers (dumpsters), requiring your ability to operate the equipment at each customer's facility. Responsibilities: ● Safely operate a 25,000 lb. truck ○ This includes precise backing in tight spaces ● Skillfully operate a hydraulic controlled machine implement to company standards ○ Ensure no dumpster is damaged ● Properly track and document activity log via smartphone application ● Inspect truck before and after trip using an app based checklist and common sense ● Conduct regular basic maintenance on truck ○ Check/tighten hoses, grease rails, check/tighten bolts, change a fuse or bulb, fluids ● Regular cleaning of truck and machine ● Demonstrate complete reliability and accountability by adhering to schedule ● Fuel truck and DEF ● Impress our customers and prospects - You are often the face of our company, interacting with our customers each day. Professionalism, cleanliness of your equipment and uniform, and pride in your work and the value you provide your customers, are all very important to our culture ● Effective communication with operations and sales team Requirements: ● Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields ● Valid driver's license with clean driving record - CDL preferred, but not required ● Hold a current drivers DOT medical card, or ability to obtain one quickly (company paid) ● Tech savvy enough to use a few smart phone based apps ● Ability to handle a physical workload - You must physically be able to climb a 4-foot ladder approximately 20 times per day, and occasionally place spilled trash back in a dumpster ● Adhere to strict safety standards ● Strong work ethic with tremendous reliability and accountability ● Entrepreneurial spirit, interest in growing your career and responsibilities ● Clean background check Additional Information ● Military and/or veteran candidates are encouraged to apply Benefits: ● Guaranteed minimum 20 hours per week pay ● Bonus incentive pay for field generated sales ● 401(k) ● Holidays and Paid time off ● Phone allowance ● Company gear Schedule: ● Day shift ● Hours will vary based on schedule, but comfortably within 8am - 5pm ● Occasional weekend or holidays available, but typically optional work time Experience: ● Heavy Equipment Operation: 1 year minimum ● Truck Driving: 1 year minimum ● Commercial DL: Preferred but not required
