Shelly Roberts, mother and special-needs adoption advocate, and Tony Lawlor, father and FJRC board member, have two things in common—the heartbreak of experiencing a wrongful allegation of abuse & a passion for supporting our child welfare system. As a featured speaker, Shelly will share about how the Family Justice Resource Center helped her overcome a medically-based wrongful accusation of child abuse involving her two adopted children with special needs. Tony will talk about his experiences growing up in foster care, working in child welfare, then facing a wrongful allegation involving his daughter in 2013. The FJRC advocates to ensure child abuse investigations are handled with due process and evidence-based medicine. Guests will enjoy live music and hors d'oeuvres! Beer and wine will also be provided. Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged. Each registration on Eventbrite will be entered into our door prize drawing. Registration is required.
