Join the Brewery Owner, the house Chef and our Head Brewer to explore the pairings of a delicious four course meal, with four of our most interesting and flavorsome ales, served in the brewery production cellar, with new beers gurgling happily beside you. The background to each pairing will be explained by the Brewer and Chef. The Owner will be on hand to guide the curious through the history of brewing in Galena. Did you know that Red Stripe beer was produced in Galena for 100 yrs before it went to Jamaica? Beer Pairing Menu (August 26th Dinner)Shrimp appetizer with Avocado and CucumberPlump juicy Cajun shrimp over creamy avocado on a crisp slice of cucumber, presents a delicious mouthful of Southern cuisine paired with our very popular award winning blond ale. This is our lightest ale which has a very crisp and refreshing flavor with a pleasant malty sweetness and a brilliant white head, finishing with a hint of citrus hop. Strawberry Spinach Salad Strawberry spinach salad, with layers of exciting flavor, including candied pecans, feta cheese, and onion paired with our NABA Gold winning Hefeweizen. This is a classic Bavarian style wheat beer that is straw in color and somewhat cloudy due to the yeast in suspension. The yeast gives the beer a medium to heavy mouth feel yet it is very refreshing due to banana and clove overtones. Tandoori ChickenPlump juicy chicken thighs soaked in a creamy, lightly spiced, yogurt-based marinade, cooked to traditional perfection paired with our Mexican Lager seasonal ale. This is a full flavored lager featuring Pilsner and Vienna malt with the addition of flaked maize, honey malt and other adjunct grains Dessert Tres Leches, the traditional Latin American cake drizzled in three different types of milk: evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk or heavy cream…just scrumptious! This delicious desert is paired with our 5-Layered Beerito (Mexican Imperial Stout) a smooth and complex stout base with 5 layers of goodness, layered in the brite tank: liquid cocoa, shredded/toasted coconut, Mexican vanilla beans, ancho, seco peppers and cinnamon sticks!
