The American Jazz Museum is bringing back Third Thursdays this summer with free museum admission from 5-7pm and an outdoor concert at 7:30pm.
Thursday, September 15th: Elisha Israel & AZ-ONE on the Jay McShann Pavilion behind the Museums at 18th & Vine.
Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, snacks and drinks and enjoy a summer evening of live music. This event is free of charge and family-friendly!
About the Band:
Elisha Israel and AZ-ONE is an African American reggae band based out of Kansas City, MO. Elisha is the lead vocalist, bass guitarist, producer, arranger, songwriter, dedicated to bringing heart throbbing, uplifting and inspirational music to the people. Elisha came to Kansas City in 1987, and immediately began working with the local reggae artists, which lead to the opportunity to continue moving forward as a reggae artist. In 1989 Elisha reformed his band AZ-ONE and began to open for many of the major reggae acts traveling through the area such as Ras Michael & the Sons of Negus, Jimmy Cliff, Garth Dennis (formerly of the Wailing Souls and Black Uhuru. The Itals, Beenie Man, Burning Spear, Culture, Fela Kuti, the Skatalites, Jimmy Cliff, Pablo Moses, Black Uhuru, Yellow Man, Mutabaruka, Andrew Tosh, Toots & the Maytals, Buju Banton, Luciano, Lucky Dube, Pato Banton, War, The Wailing Souls and many more, Elisha Israel and AZ-ONE was the winner of the Midwest Music Association Award for Best Reggae/World Beat in 2004.
