What do you know about age-related macular degeneration (AMD)? Or about the macula, the center of the retina? If the answer is “not a ton,” that’s okay — a lot of our patients don’t feel confident about AMD. But unfortunately, when it comes to macular degeneration, knowing is half the battle. This condition doesn’t have noticeable symptoms until irreversible damage has been done, meaning that the best way to prevent vision loss is to be proactive and learn what you’re up against.
