An Architect guided tour of the soon to be completed Windgate Studio & Design Center in Fayetteville, AR. A four-story 154,600-square-foot state-of-the-art building, tripling the size of the University of Arkansas’ current art studios, art classrooms and work spaces. Learn about current issues that arise during design and construction of a modern arts facility. Highlight what makes healthy studio and multi-purpose space that works to engage the public in an urban college setting. Coordination of building disciplines in a mid-rise building construction. Learning Objectives: Objective 1: Discover the complexities of designing an arts facility that encourages collaboration and cohesiveness between and amongst various art disciplines. Objective 2: Coordination of structural and mechanical systems into a modern art facility.Objective 3: Integration of the building into the city master plan to enhance and the strengthen awareness of art, enhancing public experience.Objective 4: Learn about the required coordination between Architect, contractor and client needed to deliver successful collaboration of large-scale university projects.
