Old sheep dog needs a good home

My dad died Monday, he left behind a sheep dog that’s 11-13 years old. He’s a nice loyal dog but he’s been neglected the last year, my dad had cancer and he couldn’t care for milo at all. He’s matted and has an ear infection. We’re getting him all cleaned up, his infection cared for and his fur all cut off before he gets a new home. He can’t be around kids, he can be touchy and nip at kids. He’s never bitten my kids but I wouldn’t ever leave them alone together either. He’s In Indiana right now at my dads home, my brothers were going to put him down but I’m going to get him this weekend. I live in moline but we can travel to get him to a good home. He belongs with an older guy, no kids around, he’s always been good with other dogs, I don’t know how he would do with other animals. He would be happy on a farm, I don’t think he would like being a totally outside dog though, he does love people. He’s a very loyal dog and I know he’s very sad right now because his owner is dead. He’s free to the right home. I just want him to have a good ending to his life. I’m sure he’s only got a few years left and he’s had a pretty hard life.
