Description
In this workshop we'll talk about zine history (abolitionist pamphlets, poetry chapbooks, fan-fiction, punk zines, Riot Grrrl, protest zines) and then learn how to make our own using collage, typed text, photography, comics, drawings, and unique textures. Using Vera's Zine Library for examples and inspiration, students will learn 2 formats and get started on their first zine. All supplies provided, but students are encouraged to bring pics, print out photos or text, anything they'd like to include in their zine. For age 14 and up. Instructor: Kelly Froh, long-time zinester, comic artist, and Executive Director of Short Run Comix & Arts Festival. COVID-19 Safety Information All venue guests (with the exception of youth under age 5) are required to present proof of COVID vaccination by bringing your original vaccination document or a photo/digital copy + ID to the workshop.
