It's a difficult place for them to develop a strong sense of confidence - confidence in their bodies, their abilities, their opinions, their opportunities...and, ultimately, confidence in themselves. In this workshop, participants will learn the newest insights from The Girls' Index, the country's largest national survey of adolescent girls with nearly 11,000 respondents. From confidence, body image, sexting, and social media to school, academics, career planning, and leadership, the findings from The Girls' Index provide a roadmap for mental health professionals to recognize and understand the challenges impacting girls. Meet the PresenterLisa Hinkelman, PhD, LPC, is an experienced academic and clinician, who has spent her career in counseling and education focused on girls and women. She is the founder and executive director of ROX and the author of Girls Without Limits: Helping Girls Achieve Healthy Relationships, Academic Success and Interpersonal Strength. ROX is the national nonprofit leader creating generations of confident girls through evidence-based programming in schools, innovative national research and professional development on issues impacting today’s girls.
