It's All Urban! Hiking, Ohio City Farming and Cooking!

Chase the Flavor and All Forward are teaming up to create a unique experience to introduce you to local food, people and organizations in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Food brings people together. Food shifts the dynamic. Food lightens the mood and takes our minds off current events. Food creates community. Your experience will kick off at Public Square at the Tri-C Hospitality Management Center (HMC) with an urban hike to tour and pick up fresh produce at the Ohio City Farm, Cleveland’s largest urban farm powered by The Refugee Response. We will then hike back to HMC to meet local chef, Casey Hummus, who will make (3) different types of her hummus creations with the freshest of the fresh ingredients for you to enjoy. Hike will be 3.2 miles roundtrip. The experience includes: Intro/closingGuided urban hike to/from Ohio City FarmOhio City Farm Tour Local produce for hummus demoTasting of chef creation Jar of hummus to take home Parking Casey Hummus (Cassandra Barlow) is an up and coming chef on the west side of Northeast Ohio. She is currently seeking her Professional Culinarian/Cook Certificate and Culinary Arts Associate degree from Cuyahoga Community College’s Hospitality Management program. During the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Casey took a step out of the catering/restaurant scene as a cook while attending school, and started recipe developing a memory and heritage packed spread of her own: hummus. She started creating and selling seriously seasonal/ local ingredient dependent flavors of hummus. Special delivery/ contactless pick up was established and since then has grown into offerings alongside dishes to be enjoyed with hummus at pop ups, concerts, events, and catering orders. This year, the business has been adding additional spreads/ snacks such as baba ganoush, garlic spreads like Toom, and couscous salads. Her future goal is to obtain a food truck and offer seasonal only options that change daily. We look forward to Chasing the Flavor together! If you need to cancel, there is a nonrefundable deposit of $25. 72 hours before the event there are no refunds. Rain or shine. If we need to cancel due to severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances as determined by All Forward/Chase the Flavor, rain date will be September 15 or a refund will apply amount to a future All Forward/Chase the Flavor event.
