We will be getting an inside view at the 147,440 square foot state of the art facility that houses 43 employees, roughly 180 vehicles and $7 million dollars’ worth of equipment.
The new facility includes administrative offices, vehicle storage, vehicle maintenance and cold storage for the Mundelein Public Works all in one complex. The Facility was built in 2020 with an overall investment of $23 million dollars from the Community.
It was built with “Green practices” in mind, including energy saving LED lighting with occupational based controls and dimmable, motion sensor exterior lighting. The vehicle maintenance garage was built with ceiling hung radiant heaters and roof mounted heat pumps for the offices, including high efficiency HVAC and hot water units.
The Entire site is 165,750 square feet boasting a 1-million-gallon stormwater detention pond.
