The "Living Philosophy" course is a journey to get to know our inner being, with our potentials and latent powers, as well as a path to discover the wisdom traditions of humanity, from Buddhism to Stoicism, from Plato to Egypt and many more.
The course offers practical tools to improve our relationship with ourselves and with others, to understand the laws of nature and to live our best selves more consistently.
The course revolves around three core topics: Self-development (ethics), learning to live together in harmony(sociopolitics), and building the future (philosophy of history).
There are 8 classes in the course.
Classes will take place IN-PERSON* weekly on Thursdays from 7 pm -9:30 pm (with break), starting September 8th (unless COVID-19 circumstances require otherwise). The First class is open to all!
Topics include: Hinduism and the inner battle; Dharma, Karma and Reincarnation; What the Buddha taught; Confucius and the Harmonious Society; Plato's Cave; The Practical Wisdom of the Stoics; Justice in Ancient Egypt; The Cycles of Time in Mesoamerican Cultures; And more.
Classes include the practice of concentration, attention, memory, habits, intelligence, willpower, among others.
The course is a foundation course for the study program of New Acropolis, which includes advanced courses such as practical psychology, the wisdom of the east and west, symbolism of ancient cultures, oratory (public speaking) and more.

*With accordance to Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommendations, all participants, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear masks in public indoor settings.
