One of the world's most remarkable outdoor art treasures lies hidden in plain sight along Chicago's Lake Michigan waterfront: carvings in the old limestone revetments that line much of the lakeshore. Many of them are spectacular, most are by anonymous creators, and all of them are rarely noticed. Outsider art authority and board member of Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art William Swislow has photographed thousands of the Chicago rock carvings. He'll tell the story of this art underfoot, the lakefront that hosts it, and the carvers who made it.
